Great post, love your writing style! That couple (Annabelle and ole George) is one of the strangest to read about. For some reason I’ve come to really dislike her. As you said, what was she thinking? My pet theory is that staying married to him scared her because she had to be in control all the time and she realized she couldn’t control him, she’d then also have to admit she’d made a mistake in thinking she could reform him and she couldn’t admit she was wasn’t infallible.
